I almost didn't click on this cause its like snoozeville here. When did RIC get a Jazz Fest? wow this is new. We haven't had a Jazz fest in like 10yrs. And right down the street from where I grew up too.

Its the first time anything this big, in a long while, being held at Maymont Park. Check the website, it says what you can bring. idk what to expect. I remember back in the 80s there were a few jazz fest hosted by big Fortune 500 companies and the crowd was medium. Some of the acts on the lineup will pull a lot of fans out. But idk since this was like just announce in July. Folks may be on vacation. But I'm sure the jazz heads will try to support. Like I said before, its been a long time since RIC had a jazz fest. I have to laugh cause I heard about it here. That's how scarce the info was. But now I see more advertising and mentions in the paper.

btw this is park. you know animals on one side and historic stuff on the other. Maymont park was actually someone land which was later donated to the city by the Dooley's. One of my fav. teachers family own this land, and their family mansion still sits in the park. Dooley Mansion. Last time I went there it was More animals and the landscape is always nice. Very hilly. If you are familiar with RIC, its very hilly. But overall the location is nice.
