I almost didn't go, but thank God I did! OMG! WOW! I went just to see Lalah perform, but I got SO much more. I knew it was Kierra Kiki Sheard's conference & my twin said she heard it was outside so she declined to go. Last night's part of the youth conference was in the church of where Kierra's dad, J. Drew Sheard, is Senior Pastor. When I told my other sister where I was going to see Lalah, she said, "Lalah gone be in the 'hood"!...lol That COGIC was off the hook! Besides our Lalah, also in attendance were her Kiki's mom, Karen Clark Sheard, her aunties Dorinda Clark Cole & Twinkie Clark, her cousin J Moss, Donald Lawrence & someone from Sunday's Best (sorry I didn't watch that show). Tye Tribbett was in attendance the night prior. Kiki's brother, J. Drew, is her drummer. Her band & the Bold, Right, Life choir were all bad!

There were 3 or 4 other performances of unknowns until the J Moss produced Boy group 2103 performed! I don't known the names of the 3 songs they sang, but them boys can sing & dance, all for the Lord of course. They had the kids in front of the stage the entire time they performed. When J Moss sang 3 songs, one of them called "Restore" that he wrote & testified about the "trouble" he got into & was delivered from. Kiki & Karen Clark Sheard backed him up on vocals!

This was my first time seeing any of the Clark family sing live! They blew me away! Kiki sang, "Wave Your Banner", "Invisible, & not sure of the third song. Her vocals, like her mom's, are powerful, how they do them "runs". When Donald Lawrence performed with the choir & Kiki, it was so awesome! I recognized the songs but can't tell you the name of them. In church style, the last song never ended. Donald Lawrence individually let everyone SANG, i.e. Karen, Dorinda, Twinkie & the lady from Sunday best. All I can say is WHEW!

When it was finally Lalah's turn, they had technical difficulties, so after she got approval to take off her shoes, Lalah sang, "When Your Life Was Low" unplugged, no nothing (Um, um, um); until they cued her track for, "Don't Forget Where Your Blessings Come From"! Lalah had the church on their feet & hollering! Her last song was "Summertime" with Kiki's band & they were on it! That's when Lalah showed them she can "run" too!...lol It was a remarkable night! I think I was there from about 7:30 - 11:30 p.m.!

The Pastor said his daughter put on & paid for the conference herself, but when they took an offering, that's when I walked down to the altar to give & I stopped to greet Lalah who was seating in the front row with the other gospel elite! She was radiant in a white top & jeans. It was really good to see & hear you Lalah at "church" on a Saturday night! I hope you enjoyed yourself as well!

Wonderful, wonderful recap, Camille! Again, I felt like I was there.....the way you described the evening's events. I'm like you (before last night)---I'd LOVE to see the Clark Sisters in action Live! I'll bet it was a sight to behold! So glad you had a wonderful time!

It was so awesome Lalah!!!!! Thanks all! I told my mom & my sisters they missed it! I had my flip video in my purse, but after they announced you'd get put out if any picture or video was taken & put on You Tube, I abided by the church rule!
